Dutch football legend Frank de Boer, now manager of Atlanta United, believes that equal pay for mens and womens national teams is not a worthwhile idea.I think for me, its ridiculous, De Boer said in an interview with The Guardian. Its the same like tennis. If there are watching, for the World Cup final, 500 million people or something like that, and 100 million for a womens final, thats a difference.

So its not the same.

Atlanta United boss De Boer said he is in favor of equal pay in general society, but not in sportsI think it started because a woman (was) getting underpaid, especially at (managerial) positions, De Boer said.

They have to earn the same as a man. I think if you have a manager position for a bank or something, you have to earn the same what the men did because its not physically, just only here (points to head), so why do you have to earn less, because youre doing the same job as a man?I think thats also dropped a little bit into the sports world, like tennis and soccer.

But I think thats still different. RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next
