Unhinged pro-choice insults continue as California Dem calls Republicans 'sex-starved males' on the House floor

During a debate on the House floor Wednesday, Rep. Norma Torres added to the Democrats’ recent trend of ridiculous rhetoric regarding abortion. “Mr. Speaker, it is tiring to hear from so many sex-starved males on this floor talk about a woman’s right to choose,” Torres said.

Gasps and whispers echoed the room, and her snarky joke did not go down as planned. Seconds later, when Republican Rob Woodall immediately asked if Torres would like to “change her last statement,” she complied. “Mr. Speaker, if it pleases my colleague on the other side, I will withdraw my statement about ‘sex-starved males’ on the floor.

” It was only yesterday that Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand made her own ridiculous statement by equating pro-lifers with racists. When stating her support for judges who agree with Roe v. Wade, the presidential candidate said, “There is no moral equivalency when you come to racism, and I do not believe there is a moral equivalency when it comes to changing laws that deny women reproductive freedom.

” Rachel Maddow made an equally foolish statement yesterday on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she described the recent wave of pro-life legislation as “horror-movie disturbing.” Maddow is right, these new pro-life laws are just like being chased by a deadly monster. Except the monster is basically dead and can’t do anything unless the Supreme Court says it can.

And even if the Supreme Court says it can, the state courts also have to say it can. And even if the state courts say the monster can move too, you can just casually drive to the state next door because the monster can’t cross any state lines. Also, the monster was never able to kill you to begin with, it was actually stopping you from killing other people.

But besides that, it’s just like a horror movie. Less than a week ago, Cory Booker made his own ridiculous statement when he claimed the Hyde Amendment, which bars taxpayer dollars from funding abortion procedures, was “an assault on African American women.” The statement was made during a speech at the Democratic National Committee African-American Leadership Summit.

. Look, I get that its primary season, but the Democrats’ rhetoric on abortion is getting out of control. They’re isolating the average American, and it could cost them big in the 2020 elections. ..
