Martin may be two novels behind Game of Thrones’ ending, but the TV show’s finale will be his planned conclusion to A Song of Ice and Fire. The 70-year-old author has made it clear he let the showrunners know all the major plot points of The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. He told Rolling Stone: “The major points of the ending will be things I told them five or six years ago.
But there may also be changes, and there’ll be a lot added.” Related articles

Game of Thrones books; Quaithe PREDICTED Arya and Daenerys ending The penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, The Bells, saw Daenerys invade King’s Landing and then annihilate the whole city in one swooping feat of destruction thanks to her only surviving dragon’s flames.
It’s certainly clear from the very short teaser trailer for the final ever episode that Tyrion and Arya may have some mixed feelings about her actions. But Daenerys has won; the Iron Throne is hers and House Targaryen is in power once again. Or is it?Let’s not forget that Jon Snow – aka Aegon Targaryen – is her nephew and the rightful ruler of seven kingdoms, as a direct male heir of her older brother Rhaegar, the son of the Mad King.
Game of Thrones ENDING: Is THIS George RR Martins FATE for Daenerys in A Dream of Spring? (Image: GETTY/HBO)With one episode left, it seems pretty clear that Martin doesn’t intend for A Dream of Spring to conclusion so neatly.Considering Arya’s riding a white horse – a reference to one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse known as Death in The Bible’s Book of Revelation – and the fact she looks like she has vengeance in her eyes, suggests Arya wants to finish off Dany.
Meanwhile, Tyrion looks like he has mixed feeling about his Queen now.
Daenerys has won the Iron Throne, but we doubt it will last (Image: HBO)And let’s not forget that both of them, and Sansa, know that Jon is really the rightful heir to the Iron Thone.Plus, Arya and Sansa told Jon they distrust Daenerys at Winterfell.
With all this in mind, it looks like Martin’s intentions are for Daenerys to die at the end of A Song of Ice and Fire at the hands of one of the Starks.Certainly, Arya is a likely candidate after all her recent assassinations and the white horse of Death imagery. Related articles
