WWE news: Peyton Royce and Billie Kay verdict on women wrestling in Saudi Arabia one day

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are the WWE Womens Tag Team Champions (Image: WWE)The wrestling giants are set to travel to Saudi Arabia for their third Pay-Per-View event in the Middle East as part of the company’s multi-million, 10-year deal with the Saudi Kingdom.The promotion will stage WWE Super ShowDown on June 7 at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah and so far there has been no confirmation as to whether or not women will be allowed to compete in the Arab state.

WWE’s first two events in Saudi Arabia caused plenty of controversy as female wrestlers weren’t permitted to perform due to strict gender rules and the second show WWE Crown Jewel took place shortly after the brutal murder of prominent journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

The women’s division is on fire and recently hit a major milestone as they had Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch wrestle in the first ever all-women’s WrestleMania main event. Related articles

The IIconics aren’t worried about missing out from yet another show in Saudi Arabia as they are confident they will finally manage to make history eventually if they just keep on taking small steps towards that change.WWE managed to stage the first ever women’s match in the United Arab Emirates between Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks in 2017 and the former NXT stars believe the time will come for women to break another glass ceiling in Saudi Arabia.

Royce, speaking on behalf of herself and Kay, told Express Sport: “I feel like we just need to take those steps and we will get there.
